Finally summery warm temperatures and June 1 was actually the first warm evening. Long we have finally waited for it and could enjoy the evening outside. For you I now have summer impressions…. I love the lights in the garden, because they make such a homey atmosphere.
Summer impressions from the evening garden of lights
Since the pool is now finished, this week the man of my heart has filled the rest with gravel, I hung some fairy lights. I love this light in the evening!!! I will show you the completion of the pool soon. You see, last year we didn’t get it all done because the curbs were delivered too late. It was finally all sold out due to the corona situation ;)) About the pool construction itself you can find everything here
Here you can see my new oleander…. Last year I had one from the hardware store and it died over the winter. When we looked, there were lots of grubs and an ant nest in the root ball. Are you having this much trouble with grubs too? This year I will definitely water with nematodes in August/ September! The new one I bought at the garden center and I’m really looking forward until it blooms!
Even though the vegetation is weeks behind, quite a bit is starting to bloom now. The snowball blooms at all the first year very lush and is almost without black aphids and what is even more important: without slug beetle larvae! I wonder if this is due to the cold May temperatures? No idea…..I am in any case glad that it is so lush, because I already considered removing him…..
A wreath of flowers as a lantern
Maybe you can still remember the post from here? That was the first time I ordered a wreath from my flower store. What was then a quasi emergency solution, has now become a dear habit. After the first week I replace the faded flowers and after two weeks I order a new one. As soon as I have a little more flowers in the garden, especially roses, I can do this again myself. I’m sure you know my rose arrangements!!! However, I think the round wreath shape is so great because you can easily make a lantern out of it. To do this, I put a tall vase in the middle and placed a candle in it.
That was it… first summer impressions from the Pomponettigarden. I hope you are well and wish you a wonderful Friday and of course a great start into the weekend! Big hugs ♥♥♥
